R.I.G. Pierce (Rest in Grub)

so sad to report that my buddy pierce (the truth) regan passed away this afternoon - 3 weeks shy of his 17th birthday. he was recently slowed by increasing seizures and an ailing kidney. pierce passed in much pain after wetting on renee in the pet hospital waiting room and saying one last goodbye to his beloved benny. he lived into his 90s in dog years. it was a long and good run. he grubbed until the very end. 

paul "the truth" pierce regan was born on february 10, 1998, in north andover, mass. he moved to belmont, ca in 2002 and spent his retirement years in shell beach, ca. he was a professional grubber throughout all these years, even in retirement. likened as the lieutenant columbo of grubbing his exploits were well renowned as noted in this blog.

he leaves behind his dad, ben. his mom, renee, and several good friends including Freed, Dino, Ryan, Bacahl, & Kobe, Nikki & Brian, Terry, LaLa, & NateDog, neighbors Brad & Chaz, the crew at DePalo & sons, his good buddies DJ, Fraggle, & Rancho & his favorite girl Christy. In lieu of donations, please celebrate Pierce's life at 7pm on Tuesday January 25th at the Spyglass Inn's All You Can Eat Crab Night. RSVP's appreciated here. 

sometimes animals can exhibit human tendencies. pierce being a prime example. if there is something i learned from pierce, it is about focus...if you do something long enough and with all of your heart, then you will be successful. he was by far the best grubber i have ever known. he had it down to a seamless science. god bless pierce...he's with the angels now - searching for manna, the grub of the gods.
